Job Description:
The Deployment Engineer is the primary person responsible for the install and configuration of mGage India products. This position works very closely with the Systems, IT and Engineering groups to deliver the system as designed for the client. This role also interacts with various client technical staff and may be asked to travel to client site to perform installs. Deployment Engineers also provide escalation support for operational systems as needed.
- Good exposure to Application Deployment in production environment
- Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Skills:
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments
- Advanced Windows server skills (IIS, Windows security, optimization, and troubleshooting)
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, routing, QoS)
- Security and encryption fundamentals (SSL/TLS, SSH, PGP)
- SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle (DBA activities, experience with SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures)
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
- Ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly and concisely to both business and technical audiences in both written and verbal form
- Meticulous about documentation and record-keeping
- Work successfully in a strong team environment
